Lake Wateree Riversweep Saturday, September 19th

Mark your calendars! Lake Wateree Riversweep has been scheduled for Saturday, September 19th. Volunteers should arrive by 9:00 AM at one of the two launch sites: Wateree Creek Access (upper/Fairfield/Lancaster part of lake) and White Oak (aka Clearwater Cove; lower/Kershaw part of lake). Last year’s cleanup saw 45 volunteers remove 6,500 pounds of trash! Attendees will receive t-shirts and can attend a post-cleanup social event with games, food and drink; location to be determined. Heeding feedback from last year, the date will not conflict with college football as Clemson’s game that week is on Thursday, and USC’s away game at Georgia does not kick off until 6:00 PM. Trash bags, gloves and water will be provided. Boats and bodies are both needed. To sign up or for more information, please contact the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation at 704-679-9494 or sam@catawbariverkeeper.org.
